Olimba Mara Camp

Olimba Mara Camp is a small eco-friendly mid-range accommodation found along Talek River in the heart of the most exciting and Kenya’s famous Maasai Mara national game reserve. . You can be at the camp by road or air transport taking approximately a 5-6 hours (250km) drive from Nairobi city center to Maasai Mara National Park and an hour to fly from Nairobi to the close ol kiombo airstrip then a 13km drive to be transferred to the camp.   The camp is convenient and business-friendly to tourists, and travelers who want to explore the park with its beautiful view of Talek River, wildlife drinking water at the river and surrounding areas.

Olimba Mara camp consists of 6 spacious and comfortable tents raised on a wooden deck overlooking the Talek River reflecting traditional building styles with modern comfort.  There is also a campsite with tents for hire for camp lovers.  Each tent is well elevated, decorated and furnished with en-suite facilities of clean private flush toilets, safari-style hot and cold showers, dressing tables, mosquito nets, Televisions, Air conditioning, Deck chairs, work Decks, Wooden Tables, Free bottled water in the tents and many others. Each tent has sitting areas, Private verandas and a vanity deck that gives a better view over Talek River, wildlife roaming around the river and surrounding areas. Tents are equipped with comfortable clean beddings containing queen-sized beds.  There are fireplaces at the camp where guests relax and share stories about safaris; it also provides warmth to visitors during cold nights.  The camp offers tents suitable for families as well as individuals with single beds, double beds, twins, and triple beds.

Olimba Mara camp offers more services and facilities which include;

  A restaurant in the main canvas structure that serves different meals both international ( vegetarians and non-vegetarians) and Kenyan cuisine to meet guests’ choice, English breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinners (both in and outdoor dinners)  served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff, they also serve bush diners overlooking the stars in the sky.

A well-stocked bar and lounge with a variety of refreshments both, local, cocktails, wines, spirits and international beers, you relax  and sip the cocktail  while overlooking  the breathtaking views  over the Mara wilderness,  Talek river   and surrounding area

Maasai Mara National Park is among the largest and most visited parks in Kenya known for its incredible density and variety of animals. it is situated  270km north of Nairobi in Kenya occupying a total area of 1,510 km squared . There are many over 1 million tribes in Kenya, Maasai are an initial and local group of semi-nomadic people that settled in Kenya and the northern part of Tanzania. Maasai Mara National Park is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. The park contains over a million animals that including lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos and 600 species of birds and 60 species of raptors in different colors. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration from Serengeti National Park during July, August, and October. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers.
