
Talek Bush Camp
Talek Bush Camp in Maasai Mara National Reserve – Kenya Safaris : Talek bush camp is a spacious mid-range tented camp on the banks of Talek River on the Eastern Edge of Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is positioned a few minutes’ walk to Talek gate and 500 meters from Hippo view point.
The camp can be reached either by road or air.
By road – It covers approximately 5 – 6 hours ‘’250kilometere’’ from Nairobi.
By Air- Domestic flights from Nairobi to Kiombo airstrip take about 45 minutes followed by a 15 kilometers transfer to the camp.
Talek Bush Camp is comprised of 10 comfortable rooms raised on a wooden deck overlooking Talek River reflecting traditional building styles with modern comfort. Each room is well elevated, decorated and furnished with en – suite facilities such as clean private flush toilets, safari style hot, cold showers, dressing tables, televisions, mosquito nets, Desk chairs, wooden tables and free bottled water.
Other amenities at the camp include; A spacious restaurant, a lounge, a blue water swimming pool, laundry services, Wi-Fi and a Craft gift shop. Well, a continental breakfast is available daily at the Camp.
In fact, Masai Mara National Reserve is popularly known in the entire world for having the highest concentration of big cats and exceptional big cats include lion, leopard and cheetah. Sighting them is quite unforgettable big cat encounter and other numerous animals. The reserve was established in 1961 as a wildlife sanctuary that was covering only 520 square kilometers. Later it was declared as national reserve in 1974 and the land was expanded in 1976 to over 1510 square kilometers till date.
Location; The reserve is located on the southern part of Kenya along he great rift valley area and it covers 224 kilometers away from the capital Nairobi. The drive takes about 6 to 7 hours’ drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve through smooth road that stops at Narok town.

By air – You can decide to use a domestic flight from Wilson Airport or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. It takes 45 minutes from Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Game drive in Masai Mara is the most done activity in the park, done in different sessions morning or afternoon game drive sessions.
Morning game drive is the perfect time to catch up with sun risers, watch the African sunrise. It is most rewarding game drive since you will be able to spot the very active animals in an open savannah grassland. At this time the cats are in the ambush looking for the food of the day by hunting. You can join in for evening game drive or night game drive where you will be able to view the nocturnal animals.
Walking safaris
This is interesting and can be done by game ranger equipped with a gun using trails that are less used by predators at a close view of animals like giraffes, elephants, buffalos among others.
