Aberdare national park Fees : Aberdare national park is a scenic national park situated in central Kenya covering an area of 767 square kilometers, the park is 180 kilometers from Nairobi. Aberdare national park was gazetted as a national park in 1950 mainly to offer the refuge to wildlife and the Aberdare mountain range. Aberdare national park sits between the elevation of 2000 meters and 4000 meters above the east level that is comprised of moorland, bamboo forests, deep V-shaped valleys intersected by the rivers, waterfalls, streams, and rainforests and among others. The park was named after Aberdare mountain range which is an isolated volcanic range that forms the eastern arm of the rift valley that extends up to 100km north-south Nairobi. Aberdare National Park is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Services.

Category/status of the tourists.

Citizens. These are visitors of the park who are citizens of Kenya with their valid ID’s and passport, this category also includes citizens from East African Community member countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda. These citizens have to be in possession of national ID’s of their respective countries.

Residents. These are the tourists of the park with no citizenships of Kenya or any other countries who are members of East African Community but stay and work in Kenya. These individuals have to be in possession of their valid documents from immigration and proper working documents.

Non- Residents. These are called the international tourists from countries outside Kenya and East African community countries.

Children. Are tourists from the age of 3 to 18 years.

Student. These tourists from a recognized secondary, government and private college or university, students are aged up to 23 years visiting Aberdare National Park with a purpose of education. Students are supposed to have their visit documented and arrange by the institution and these documents require a minimum of 2 weeks a notice for Kenya Wildlife Services to issue an authorized for student rates.

Adults. Adults are the tourists who above the age of 18 years.

Vehicles and aircraft fees.

As per Kenya Wildlife Services, vehicles entering inside Aberdare National Park whether carrying the passengers or goods or stationed in the park pay a particular private and this also applies to aircrafts in the park.

Vehicles fees are charged per day basing on the seating capacity of the vehicle, these fees are majorly charged to vehicles carrying tourists to the park.

These fees are charged to all the vehicles stained in Aberdare National park and these fees are paid on the annual basis/per year, these fees are charged basing on the carrying capacity and weight of the vehicle.

Aircrafts fees.

These fees are charged to every aircraft landing in Aberdare national park and the amount paid basing on the seating capacity/number of seats per aircraft. Aircraft fees are paid per single landing per aircraft.

Camping fees.

Camping experience in Aberdare national park is charged a fee for tourists to access the camping site, camping sites in Aberdare national park are of two categories that is the special and public camping sites. Both of these are charged on the status of the tourist.

Mode of payment ,while making payments at Aberdares national park various modes of payments are possible and these include Mpesa, Visa, Card, Direct deposits to Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) bank accounts and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Note, Please note that Aberdare national park fees are valid for 24 hours and paid per person, they exclude all private activities done in the park but includes all activities that are managed by the park authority. You can reduce the cost by paying annual fees where discounts are given. The annual passes are valid for one year and guests can visit any national park under the management of Kenya Wildlife Services. If you need any private arranged activity at the park then you pay an extra fee directly to the organizers of that activity. If you try to the park without paying Aberdare National Park national park is directly an offence which is punishable.
