Day Watamu Marine Park & Sudi Island Tours : Your day excursion to Malindi and Watamu will reward you with an amazing Kenya safari opportunity to discover these undiscovered settlements close to Mombasa. See a mosque, stores, the palace, and a much more.

Day 1

After breakfast at your Mombasa hotel at 7:30 in the morning, you will be met by our driver-guide, who will give you a quick orientation before you get into your Kenya safari vehicle and head north to Watamu Marine National Park, which is about a 90-minute drive away. Watamu Marine National Park offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and many plantation gardens with picturesque landscapes. When you get to the marine park later, you may head straight to the motorised two-decker glass boat, where you can lounge in the sun on the upper deck or unwind on the lower deck while taking in the underwater scenery as you cruise towards the Marine Park.

You will be able to see some dolphins swimming in a short while, and you will be able to jump into the ocean and go swimming with them. They provide for an incredible Kenya safari experience as you explore the vast ocean. In order to see more marine life, you can also dive deep into the water and begin snorkelling right away. Here, a wide variety of fish species can be seen. After boarding, we sail in the direction of the park. The Marine Park & Reserve is well-known across the world for its abundant marine life and stunning natural surroundings. Three different kinds of sea turtles call the Park home, and they lay their eggs on the beaches of the Marine Park.

The Park is one of the primary reasons to visit Watamu, along with its coral gardens. Among the more often observed fish are, of course, parrotfish, whose centuries-long digestion of coral reefs has formed the white sand beach. Within this amazing underwater world of vivid colours, there are numerous species that are plainly visible, such as angelfish, groupers, filefish, lionfish, and snappers. Along the way to Blue Bay, you will also stop by the Larder in Turtle Bay. As the glass boat glides slowly over the worn coral ledges, you will notice a lot of damselfish, baby butterflies, angelfish, groupers, and octopus. If you look closely, you’ll also see crocodile fish and lionfish. The huge barracudas that congregate near the seabed in large numbers are an added bonus. Under the azure waters, you can observe the stunning coral caverns by diving or snorkelling.

Get the opportunity to swim with and interact with hundreds of fish and turtle schools. A hot seafood lunch will be served later as you sail to Sudi Island (chicken is available for those who do not eat seafood). If you decide to stay on the island after lunch, you can swim on the island’s shores or just lounge in the sun while taking pictures. Alternatively, you can choose to go on a guided canoe ride through the mangrove forest on the island and learn a little bit about its history and the creatures that live there. Spend some time capturing these final moments with the sandy beaches. Savour the last minutes you have with the island and its surroundings.

The day trip to Malindi and Watamu comes to an end at 4:30 p.m. when you board the boat and return to the mainland, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel or preferred drop-off location in time for supper.
