Maasai Mara Reserve Entry Fees & Park Rules 2024 : Maasai Mara Reserve is the most popular Kenya wildlife safari destination in the country located in South West Kenya spanning an area of 1,510 kilometers, the reserve is part of a much large ecosystem – Mara – Serengeti Ecosystem including Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

Note: visitors staying at lodges situated inside Maasai Mara National Reserve including Sarova Mara Camp, Keekorok Lodge, Governors Camp (main), Ol Moran Camp, Mara Explorer Camp, Mara Leisure Camp, Fig Tree Camp, Mara Intrepids Camp, Mara Simba Lodge and Sand River Masai Mara Camp have to pay USD 70 per adult per 12 hours. Most of these lodges are accessed using Sekenani Gate
Visitors staying outside the park pay USD 80 per adult for 12 hours and USD 45 per child under the age of 12 years.
Note: Daily Entry Fees in Maasai Mara National Reserve are valid from 6 am to 6 pm
Departure By Road – all guests departing from the Reserve by road should exit the reserve not later than 10 am, exiting beyond this time will attract additional entry fee
Departure By Air – Guests residing both inside and outside the reserve by air should arrive at the airstrip not later than 10 am, extension beyond this time will be considered an additional day in park so extra entry fees will apply. A 2-hour transit ticket will be issued to the guests coming from facilities out side the reserve, at the gate of entry to allow the visitors reach the airstrips with the reserve.

How to Pay / Mode of Payment
Park fees in Maasai Mara National Reserve are made in Cash US Dollars or Kenya Shillings and they are accepted at the entry gates expect if you are paying for entry to the western side of the reserve that is Mara Triangle – Mara Conservancy area where only cashless payments are accepted, either Visa/Mastercard or Mpesa Mobile Money.
Cashless modes are accepted as an option for all the other entry gates including Sekenani and Talek gates. Citizens and Residents of Kenya are required to carry identification and poof of residence to avail for the Resident rates which are relatively cheaper.
Pre-Payment (obtain tickets in advance) is possible through the KAPS company located in the KATO Office, Longonot Road, Upper Hill Nairobi.
