Masai Mara Airport & Airstrips : There is no Masai Mara airport per se to fly to in Masai Mara or close to the reserve because the Masai Mara National Reserve is essentially a wilderness area. Instead, the area is served by a network of all-weather gravel airstrips. Serena Airstrip and Keekorok Airstrip are two of the most important and well-known airfields in the reserve. Keekorok Airstrip was once the sole tarmac airstrip in the park but has since been renovated to a high grade gravel runway. There are two planned flights per day from Nairobi to the Masai Mara, and each journey makes many stops. In addition, a number of carriers, including Governors Aviation, Air Kenya, and SafariLink, fly this route. Masai Mara is only a one-hour flight from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, which is the closest major airport.

Musiara Airstrip, Masai Mara (Code MDR)

One of the most well-known airstrips in the Maasai Mara National Reserve is Musiara Airstrip, which is situated in the reserve’s northernmost area and serves Governor’s Camp, Moran Camp, Serian Camp, Little Governor’s Camp, and Neptune Mara Rianta Camp. Kichwa Tembo, Masai Mara (Code KTJ)

The Maasai Mara National Reserve’s northernmost section is where Kichwa Tembo Airstrip, commonly known by its IATA code KTJ, is situated. Siana Conservancy, Masai Mara

Ngerende Airstrip, Masai Mara (Code MSC)

Olare Orok Airstrip, Masai Mara (Code OLG)

To the north of Kenya’s well-known Maasai Mara National Reserve is the Olare Orok airstrip, which is part of the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. The Orok Conservancy’s hotels and camps, including Mahali Nzuri Safari Camp, are all served by the airstrip.

Mara North Airstrip, Masai Mara (Code HKR)

Angama Mara Airport, widely known by its IATA Code ARA, is a regional airport situated in the Masai Mara Region in the Southwest of Kenya. Regular flights from and to the airstrip are accommodated by airlines such Mombasa Air Safari, Air Kenya, and Safarilink. The location of this airstrip is 1° 16′ 19″ S and 34° 57′ 38″ E. It primarily provides service to Mara Angama Lodge, Mara West Camp, and more nearby lodges and camps.

Masai Mara Airport & Airstrips : Ol Seki Airstrip, Masai Mara (Code OSJ)

Northeast of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in the Naboisho Conservancy is where you’ll find Ole Seki Airstrip. The journey to Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp takes about ten minutes. This airstrip is located at latitude -1.378(S), longitude 35.378(E), and it is 2.17 kilometers long according to GPS.

Masai Mara Airport & Airstrips : Wilson Airport, Nairobi (Code WIL)

The domestic airport serving Nairobi, Wilson Airport, is situated along Langata Road not far from Carnivore Restaurant and on the route to Karen and Nairobi National Park. Despite being small, the airport is effective and generally busy. For most local flights, you must arrive at the airport at least one hour before takeoff. The transfer time from the city center is 20 minutes in traffic-free conditions, but it takes more like 45 minutes in regular conditions.
