While the increase in the Masai Mara Entry fees is substantial, we anticipate the expected increase in revenue to the reserve from the changes could significantly improve the safari experience for travelers in Masai Mara National Reserve in form of increased ranger patrols, anti-poaching efforts and better maintained roads among others conservation initiatives.
These fees are effective from January 1st 2024 and also the implementation of a 12-hour rule (6 am – 6 pm) is with immediate effect and applies to any guests departing the Masai Mara National Reserve after 11 am where an additional (full day) park fee will be charged. Those departing on the morning flight schedule are not affected.
Guests undertaking any activity such as a Hot air balloon safari within the Mara Triangle or Mara conservancy on the morning of departure are required to pay a full day park fee on that day.
Please note that, these changes are effected by the Narok County Government not Focus East Africa Tours. However, we are ready to answer any questions or queries you might have.
