Naomi Campbell becomes Magical Kenya tourism ambassador: British super Model Naomi Campbell is the new International Magical Kenya Tourism Ambassador 2021 and this was announced to Kenyans by the tourism ministry in January 2021.
The naming of the super model as the international Magical Kenya Tourism Ambassador comes as the tourism sector in Kenya is rebuilding from the effects of the global Covid19 pandemic that saw the tourism industry shutdown completely for about four months as the nation fought the pandemic spread.
The role of the international magical Kenya tourism ambassador is to market Kenya to the entire world as an ideal tourism and travel destination for all tourists’ luxury, midrange and budget travellers.
The renowned super model will be expected to do this for Kenya for the year 2021 and all her efforts are expected to help the tourism sector resurrect from the covid19 effects and even grow to greater heights.
The super model was announced as the international magical Kenya tourism ambassador in early January 2021 by Kenya’s tourism CS Najib Balala remarking that he had discussions with Naomi Campbell and she was glad to take on the role.
The super model who has been to Kenya on several occasions made her acceptance of the role publicly and appreciated the government for improving the country’s infrastructure along the coast especially the Malindi airport and she remarked that this improvement will surely take the Kenya tourism to greater heights.
As she began her role as the international magical Kenya tourism Ambassador, Naomi Campbell invited golfers all over the world to visit the Baobab golf course in Vipingo ridge as she sighted some of the golf course’s great points including being the only PGA accredited golf course in Africa.
Previous holders of this title and role have been the Ugandan Musician Eddy Kenzo who held the position in 2017 and Kenyan World record holder and Olympic Champion Eliud Kipchoge who held the position in 2020.
