Prices to enter Masai Mara National Reserve are mostly based on the location of the lodge or Camp that the traveller is staying at. The Prices to enter Masai Mara National Reserve are charged per 24 hours if the traveller stays inside the reserve. If the guests is staying outside the reserve then the park entry fees expire as soon as you check out of the reserve. The charge is also different basing on the age of the tourist, the nationality. All chi8ldren below 12 years pay 40 $ per child while the elders above 12 years pay 80 $ per person. The Foreigners pay the above rates while the Residents and other East African citizens pay 1000Ksh and 1,200 Ksh respectively for adults. For Kenyan and East African children they pay 300 Ksh and 500 Ksh respectively. Kenyan students pay 300 Ksh and East African Students pay 500 Ksh.
Residents rates are only for Kenyan Residents and East African citizens (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi). All the East African citizens are required to present National identity cards or Passports or Work permits that show your residential details. This will be done in the park entry gates. Masai Mara National Reserve like any other protected areas in Africa allow park entry fees to be paid on the gate. The children rates are only applicable to the person below 12 years of age but above 3 years of age. All children below 3 years are free of charge. The student rates are for only students who have valid school identity cards or institution of learnings. This also valid for school organised trips like study tours by high institutions of learning. The student’s rates are on conditions that the school has to send a request to the park authorities two weeks early before the visit.
Prices to enter Masai Mara National Reserve are directly managed by locals or community under their umbrella of Narok County Council. Masai Mara National Reserves not like other national parks which are managed by Kenya Wildlife Services. The park entry fees are paid using only credit card. The traveller can prepay while in Nairobi city through the bank or directly to any of the gates that enter to the reserve.
The other great news is that if the traveller stays in the central part of Masai Mara national reserve like Mara Serena lodge guests will pay only 70 $ hence saving 10 $ daily.

- The Camping fees: The camping fees are paid for the public camping sites that guests use to pitch their tents while on a safari in Masai Mara. The private campsites charge from 10000Ksh inside the reserve. The most notable public campsites at the Reserve include Oloololo Campsite, Iseiya Campsite, and Eluai campsite. The famous private campsites are Dirisha campsite, Ndovu campsite, Kiboko Campsite, Kijito Campsite, Kishanga campsite and many more.
- Vehicle Entry fees: All the vehicles which enter the game reserve have to pay some money to access the reserve. The car fees are paid according to the size of the car, each car pays a different amount according to its carrying capacity. The Safari cars with less than 6 seats pay 400 Ksh, 6 seaters to 12 seaters pay 1000 Ksh, 13 seaters to 24 seaters pay 3000 Ksh, 24 seaters to 44 seater pays 4000 Ksh while all cars above 44 seaters pay 5000Ksh. For trucks that take food staff or other bulky items to the reserve are charged according to the tons. All trucks of 1 to 3 tons pay 700Ksh, 4 tons to 7 tons pay 2500 Ksh and 8 tons and above pay 3500 Ksh.
- Ranger fees: Other important Prices to enter into Masai Mara National Reserve is the Ranger fees. This is mostly for the self-drive travellers who will be staying in Campsites. It’s mandatory for all the campsites to have rangers that act as security during the night. The rangers are distributed by the Masai Mara national reserve management. They are transported to and fro the campsite. Guest pays 4,000 Ksh for the full night. Rangers for the game drives are paid 3,000 Ksh and 1,500 Ksh for six and below six hours game drives respectively.
- Landing fees: If one is using flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara national reserve one has to pay the landing fees. The prices are charged according to the aircraft capacity and are charged per a single landing. The light crafts from 1 to 3 seats pay 300 Ksh, 3 to 6 seats pay 500 Ksh, 7 to 14 seats 1000 Ksh, 15 to 20 Seats pay 2000 Ksh and all aircraft above 21 seats pay 3,000 Ksh.
Horse riding price is charged per day which is 1,500 Ksh and this is per person. Annual Research prices are paid per permit. This costs 400$ per person valid for one year and renewal at the end of the year.
