Getting There / Location: Masai Mara is located in the southwest part of Kenya, approximately 180 kilometers away from Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.
Both road and air transport provide access to the national reserve.
If one wants to access the park through driving, we recommend a 4×4 WD, and it takes 5 to 6 hours drive, passing through great Maasai villages with a stopover at Narok town.
The roads from Nairobi City to Narok Town are good tarmac, but after Narok, you will encounter dusty, bumpy roads until you reach the park.

During the rainy months of April, May, and November, most potholes collect water, some bridges flood, and some roads become impassable; therefore, it is advisable to contact local operators for a guide before attempting self-driving.
Flying options are available; one can connect directly from Nairobi at Wilson Airport.
You can also connect from other national park airfields directly to Masai Mara.
