Detailed Itinerary Of 7 Days Maasai Mara And Serengeti Safari
DAY 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be picked up by your safari driver guide, he will give you a short briefing about what to expect on this safari and then depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru national park – a birder’s haven and a home for black and white rhinos.
Arrive in the park in time for lunch at your lodge after checking in, in the afternoon you will go for a game drive and during this experience, expect to see abundant wildlife including rhinos, lions, leopards, hyenas, rhinos, Rothschild giraffe and array of antelopes such as impalas, gazelles, waterbucks and dik diks among others. You will also visit Lake Nakuru for amazing views of flamingoes, these amazing birds are attracted to the lake by the abundant supply of green algae in the soda-rich waters in the lake. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, you will be checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Masai Mara. Along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the country side. Arrive in time for lunch which you will enjoy after check-in at the lodge, in the afternoon you will go for a game drive exploring the endless plains of Masai Mara. Look out for wildlife species such as Wildebeests, Zebras, Elands, buffalos, antelopes, waterbucks, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards and buffalos and many more as they graze and roam around the savannah plains. You will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mara Sentrim Camp.
Day 3-4: Full day adventure in Masai Mara National Reserve
After having breakfast at your lodge, you will prepare for a full day game drive in Masai Mara national reserve where you will see a variety of wildlife species which are very active and can be easily seen at this time of day such as wildebeests, zebras, elephants, antelopes, buffalos, rhinos, lions, leopards among others.
You will have lunch at your lodge after the morning game drive in case you don’t wish to have a picnic lunch and later on after lunch, you will have another game drive as you look for other wildlife and bird species at the destination.
Day 5: Drive to Serengeti national park
You will have breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of your lodge and continue your journey to your next destination which is Serengeti national park. You will be driven to the Kenya – Tanzania border where you will clear with customs and then drive to your lodge where you will check in and prepare to have dinner and overnight at Osinoni Tented Camp
Day 6: Full day in Serengeti national park
You will start your day with breakfast and then your guide will drive you for your morning game viewing experience in Serengeti national park during which you will see various wildlife species which include elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, antelopes, impalas, elands among others.
You will visit the retina hippo pool after returning to your lodge for lunch as you prepare to have an afternoon game drive as you enjoy the open savannah plains and kopjes where you will see lions as they observe their prey. You will enjoy driving around the national park as you look for wildlife species and watch the sunset on the way to your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep.
Day 7: Departure
On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast before checking out of your lodge and continuing your journey to Arusha with en route game drive in Serengeti national park as you enjoy seeing different wildlife species grazing around the national park plains such as lions, hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, wildebeests, giraffes, antelopes, elands, dik dik, kudu, elephants, buffalos, impalas, gazelles, waterbucks, hartebeests, jackals and many bird species.
Your guide will drive you to Arusha where you will be dropped off at a location of your preference or at the airport which will mark the end of your safari.
