Distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara

Masai Mara National Reserve is located 280 Kilometers away in the Northwest of the capital city, Nairobi. One can access the reserve by road or flight. If one is using the road, it’s one of the scenic drives one can have; the road is good till when you bypass the Narok town when the road is rough, and it will take you like one to two hours drive to enter the reserve.

You will have stopovers at the good view of the Great Rift Valley, craft shopping, and other interactions with the local communities as opposed to flights. The road trip takes a drive of 5 to 6 hours depending on the stops you make along the way, as you enjoy an African experience.

For air transport, daily scheduled flights operate from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the major airfields (6) in the Masai National Reserve, which will take little time, between 40 and 45 minutes, and you enter the park where the driver-guide will meet you and drive you to the lodge to check in with an en route game drive.
