Detailed itinerary of 4 days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arrival in Kigali International airport, meet your safari driver-guide and head to Kigali City the capital of Rwanda for a short city tour visiting the Kigali genocide memorial centre, the market center and many sights. In the afternoon you set off on a drive to Kinigi via Ruhengeri, on your way you will enjoy stunning scenery of the hills and valley of the green and lush country. This journey takes approximately 2 hours to Ruhengeri and from there it is a drive of 20 minutes to Volcanoes national park, when you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Meal plan: Lunch and dinner
Day 2: 1st gorilla trekking experience
Have breakfast then take a short drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking conducted by a ranger guide who will take you through the right way to behavior in the presence of mountain gorillas, you will meet local guides, be assigned a gorilla group to trek among the 11 gorilla families found in Volcanoes national park. Trek into the jungle looking for mountain gorillas, the gorillas are usually found in the areas where they spent the last night and the guide knows better where to find them. The trekking takes about 1-6 hours which is physically demanding though you will be rewarded with spectacular beauty of the forest and the surrounding scenery, when you find the gorillas you will mind blown by the beauty and behavior of these gentle but huge creatures. You are to spend one hour in the presence of mountain gorillas was observing their behavior and taking amazing pictures.
Picnic lunch is provided and after the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: 2nd gorilla trekking experience
On this day you are to do the second gorilla trekking experience, like yesterday you will go through the same experience and the only difference is that you will trek a different mountain gorilla group other than the one you trekked on yesterday’s experience while on your Rwanda Safari.
Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner
Day 4: transfer back to Kigali
After breakfast you will checkout of your lodge and head back to Kigali city where you will do a short city tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial centre, later you will be dropped off either at your lodge or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
