Detailed itinerary of 5 days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On your arrival in Kigali at Kigali international airport you will be met by your safari driver-guide a representative of our company and after him giving you a short safari briefing you will drive to your hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival you will go for a city tour.
Dinner and overnight at Marriot Kigali Hotel.
Day 2: Kigali city tour
Have breakfast at your hotel, meet your safari driver and head to Kigali for a city tour visiting many fascinating sites such as Kigali genocide memorial center where you will learn more about the horrific Rwanda genocide of 1994, visit market centers and many m ore. After the city tour you will have lunch and drive off to Volcanoes national park a haven for mountain gorillas in Rwanda, on your way you will enjoy amazing views of the mountainous country side of Rwanda and get excellent photography opportunities. When you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: 1st gorilla trekking experience
After early morning breakfast you will head to the park’s headquarters for briefing session where a head ranger takes you through the rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the mountain gorillas, hire a porter and then be assigned a mountain gorilla group to trek. Hike through the thick forests of the park looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 1 – 6 hours of hiking through the rough and sometimes muddy terrain of the park which is physically demanding which may result into fatigue. On this experience you go with your packed lunch and when you find the gorillas you are to spend only 1 hour in the presence of the gorillas while observing the fascinating behavior of the gorillas and take beautiful pictures. After the experience you will head back to your lodge and spend the evening lounging around.

Day 4: 2nd gorilla trekking experience
On the 4th day of 5 days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking Safari you will head to the park for another mountain gorilla trekking experience, you will go through the same experience like yesterday’s gorilla trekking experience but the difference with today’s experience is that you are to trek a different mountain gorilla family. This will give you a different mountain gorilla trekking experience.
After the experience you will either head back to your lodge or head to the Iby’Iwacu cultural village where you will experience the fascinating culture of the local Rwanda people and enjoy watching traditional dance performances and learn more about the culture various tribes of Rwanda. Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: transfer back to Kigali
On the last day of the 5 days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking Safari you will checkout of your lodge after breakfast and head on a drive back to Kigali for a drop off either at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
