Detailed itinerary of 6 days Rwanda primate safari
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival in Kigali city at Kigali International airport for 6 days Rwanda primates safari you will be picked up by your safari driver guide and transfer to your hotel, depending on the time of your arrival you will go for a Kigali city visiting Kigali genocide memorial site, Kandt Museum and the craft market. You will retire for the day at your hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
After breakfast at your hotel you will checkout and set off on a journey to Nyungwe Forest national park a primate capital in Rwanda located in the southern Rwanda, on your way you will have stopovers in Nyanza district visiting the king’s palace museum and the ethnographic museum in Huye where you will have a tour learning more about the cultural history of Rwanda.
Arrive in the park in evening, check in, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest national park
After breakfast you will head to the park for a chimpanzee trekking experience as early as 5:00 am, you will go through a briefing session taking you through the rules and regulations to follow while on this experience. You will be divided into groups then head to Uwinka trail head and with a guidance of a ranger guide you will look for chimpanzees in the jungles of Nyungwe Forest national park, while trekking through the forests you will have a chance to watching other primates such as Ruwenzori colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, silver monkey, grey cheeked mangabey and over 300 bird species including Albertine rift endemics.
You will be in the presence of the chimpanzee for 1 hour watching them play on tree branches, play with each other and take pictures beautiful chimpanzees. After the experience you will head back to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will return for a canopy walk on the metallic canopy suspended high above the forests of Nyungwe. On the canopy walk you will enjoy watching various species of primates and birds. Later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Transfer from Nyungwe forest to Volcanoes national park
After breakfast you will start on a journey to Volcanoes national park a home to mountain gorillas in Rwanda, on your way you will enjoy views of winding roads and scenery of thousands hills along Lake Kivu, have en-route lunch. Arrive in the park in afternoon, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Have early breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about how to conduct in the presence of mountain gorillas, mountain gorilla trekking is the highlight of 6 days Rwanda primates safari coming face to face with the gentle giants in their natural habitat in the jungles of Volcanoes national park. Your ranger guide will guide at where to find the gorillas, this experience takes approximately 2-3 hours with one hour of staying in their presence while taking pictures and observing their beautiful behavior. After the experience you will head back to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a cultural visit in the Gorilla Guardian Village where you will be entertained by local dances and drama and learn more about the local people. Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: transfer back to Kigali for departure
Wake up for breakfast at your own leisure, checkout and set off on a journey back to Kigali where you will be drop-off at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
