DETAILED ITINERARY OF 6 DAYS GORILLA UGANDA AND RWANDA COMBINED SAFARI
Day 1: arrival at Kigali international airport
At arrival at Kigali international airport in Kigali city, you will be met by tour safari driver who will give you a warm welcome and after a short safari briefing you will transfer to Kigali city for lunch and a short city tour visiting the Kigali memorial centre, Dian Fossey center and the market centers.
Later you will drive to Ruhengeri heading to Volcanoes national park the only home to the endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda, the park is part of the great Virunga Conservation Area and it is dominated by Virunga volcanoes like the Bisoke, Karisimbi, Muhabura and Sabyinyo. When you arrive in the park that is in the evening, you will check into your lodge and have an evening of resting as you prepare for mountain gorilla trekking experience the next day. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park
After your breakfast, you will drive to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking experience where the guide rangers will take you through the rules and regulations to follow on this experience. After being assigned a gorilla group to trek you will start trekking into the thick forests of volcanoes national park looking for the mountain gorillas, the trek takes about 2-6 hours depending the gorilla group you are trekking. When you find the gorillas you will enjoy a close look at the gentle giants from a few meters range, you will have a great time watching the gorilla play and communicate with each other, watch mothers take care of and feed the younger ones. You are to strictly spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas and you can take pictures as long as your flashlight is off. After the experience you will return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: golden monkey tracking and visit Dian Fossey’s grave
After breakfast, you will head to the park for a Golden monkey tracking experience, you will have a short briefing at the park’s headquarters when you will be taken through the right way of conducting yourself in the presence of the golden monkeys. Hike into the forests heading to the bamboo forests where golden monkeys are found, you are to spend one hour in the presence of the golden monkeys and you will enjoy watching then pick bamboo shots, play on tree branches and take beautiful pictures.
After the experience you will head to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go on a hike visiting Dian Fossey’s grave, Dian Fossey was an American primatologist who dedicated her life to researching and conserving the mountain gorillas. On this experience you will learn more about Dian Fossey and her activities, later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: travel to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Have breakfast at your lodge then proceed to Kigali for a short city tour, after having lunch you will set off on a journey to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable national park arriving in the evening. Check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing then head into the mist filled forests of Bwindi forest looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes about 6 hours and when you find the gorillas you are to spend one hour in the presence of these beautiful gentle giants. While in the presence of the gorillas you will enjoy watching them for a close distance most especially the huge silverback, watch the baby gorillas playing, pick fruits and take beautiful pictures. After the experience you will return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: transfer to Kampala
