Animals in Maasai Mara, Masai Mara is one of the famous parks not only in Kenya but Africa at large. The great legendary annual wildebeest migration considered as one of the seven wonders of the tourism world has the best wildlife encounters in travel history.
Animals in Maasai Mara are the key attractions of the Reserve. Wildlife viewing is one of the most common activities done in the park which can be done using an open roof safari car or walking safaris which are escorted by well armed game rangers at an extra cost. Game drives are done throughout the year in two sessions of early morning game drive and evening game drive with a supplementary of the balloon safaris which are also done in the park for those who want to have an eagle eye to observe the animals.
Masai mara is among the few famous parks which donot have the big five with no White Rhino, very rare Black Rhino which remains in history that the park has no big five but provides big four since the Rhinos are not seen even when rangers say few Black rhinos are available but very hard to spot.
Animals in Maasai Mara has the highest concentration of big cats and small predators with the biggest number of Hyenas in Africa. Other popular animals are: the big four those are: Elephants which increase on annually basis, Lions, Buffalos, Leopards and other game that include Cheetah, Hyena, Wild Dog, Zebras, Wildebeest, Thomson’s Gazelle, Hippos, crocodiles, bat-eared foxes, Jackals, Topi and others.
