Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide – representative of Jewel Safaris, after briefing about the safari you will embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze – Kinigi.
From Kigali City, it is a drive of about 3 hours enjoying scenic views of the scenery. On arrival in the park, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Have an early breakfast and drive to the park’s headquarters for gorilla briefing which lasts for about 45 minutes, a ranger will take you through the rules and regulations to follow during the trek, register for gorilla trekking, be grouped into the group of 8 people and you will be assigned a gorilla group to trek.
Head to the starting point, head into the forest of Volcanoes National Park looking for the gentle giants, the trek takes about 2 – 6 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas, their feeding range, temperatures and where they spent their previous night. The trek is strenuous that is why you need to have packed lunch, comfortable clothes, comfortable hiking shoes and a walking stick.
When you locate the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas observing the gorilla troop go on with its daily life, babies playing on tree branches, silverbacks protecting the group and others picking fruits to eat. The sight of mountain gorillas is incredible and the climax of this Rwanda safari.
Return to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla certificates, return to the lodge for relaxation and later have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Mount Bisoke Hike
Have early breakfast and report to the park’s headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing, you will be taken through rules and regulations to follow during the trek then head to the starting point. Ascend to the volcano through various vegetation types, when you reach the summit of the volcano you will enjoy magnificent views of the crater lake at the summit.
From the summit, you enjoy views of the other Virunga ranges, Virunga National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Rwenzori Ranges.
Once you are done enjoying the scenic views, you will descend down and head back to the starting point where you will meet your guide and take you back to the lodge, spend the rest of the resting, later have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Kigali City Tour and Departure
Enjoy an early sumptuous breakfast, then drive back to Kigali city. Depending on your flight time, you will have a city tour visiting the Kigali Genocide memorial in Gisozi and the Rwanda National Museum. Later you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
