Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Kigali City Tour
On landing at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly received by our smiling representative, your driver guide. After a short briefing about the day and what to experience, he will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali for lunch and short rest. In the afternoon you will go for a Kigali city tour visiting the vibrant markets, the art gallery showcasing local talent or indulge in delicious Rwanda cuisine at one of the renowned local restaurants.
Later in the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then check out of your lodge and embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Pak, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Along the journey, marvel at the picturesque landscapes and lush greenery that Rwanda is known for.
On reaching Kinigi on the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes, you will check in at your lodge for lunch and short rest. Later in the day you will go for a visit to the Iby’Iwacu Village, where you can engage with the local community and learn about their traditional customs, dances, and crafts. Immerse yourself in their way of life, culture and traditions and gain a deeper understanding of the local Rwandan cultures. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver guide from your lodge and head to Volcanoes National Park for an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure. Join other visitors at the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas, then head into the forest looking for these endangered species.
During the trek, listen to the sounds of nature and keep an eye out for other wildlife species that inhabit the park, including golden monkeys and various bird species.
When you finally encounter mountain gorillas, you will have one hour to observe them play, feed and groom each other. Marvel at their sheer strength and gentle demeanour, and capture precious memories through your lens. The encounter with mountain gorillas is a moment of pure connection with nature’s wonders, and as you observe their behaviours and interactions, you will gain a profound appreciation for the delicate balance of the ecosystem them inhabit.

Day 5: Drive to Kigali – Departure
Today, your safari comes to an end. After a leisurely breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Kigali, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport for your flight back home or to the next destination.
