Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer from Kigali to Uganda and visit Lake Mutanda
On the first day of the safari you will be picked from Kigali city of Rwanda either at your hotel or at Kigali international airport upon your arrival (your flight to Kigali should arrive in Kigali no later than 1 pm), from Kigali you will embark on your journey to southern region of Uganda to Lake Mutanda which is a journey of approximately 4-5 hours. Upon your arrival you will have lunch and go on a visit to Lake Mutanda, at the lake you will enjoy the magnificent scenery, take amazing memorable pictures and you can also take pictures. After the experience you will drive to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking experience
On the second day of the safari you will get up early in the morning for breakfast and drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park for mountain gorilla trekking experience which is the highlight of the safari, in the park you will drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing session where rules and regulations will be read to you. These rules will be followed by all trekkers and the site you will also be assigned a mountain gorilla group to trek and hire a porter to use, from the briefing spot you will hike into the forests of Bwindi which takes approximately 3-5 hours depending on the terrain and where the family spent the previous night. When you locate the gorilla family you are allowed to stay for one hour according to the rules and guidelines of mountain gorilla, in an hour you will observe mountain gorillas playing with each other, pick fruits, shoots, leaves and take memorable pictures as long as the flashlight of your camera is off. After the experience you will hike back to the headquarters to receive your mountain gorilla trekking certificate, from the headquarters you can decide to go for an optional Batwa trail experience or drive to your lodge for resting. in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight

Day 3: return to Kigali
On the third and last day of the safari you will enjoy your last morning in Uganda, you will have breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey back to Kigali for your drop off. For your departure flight, you will have to be at Kigali international airport 3 hours before. In Kigali city you can have a short city visiting sites like Kigali genocide memorial city, kimironko market and many more. After the city tour you will have lunch and be dropped off at the airport or at the hotel which is the end of your safari.
