4 Days Maasai Mara & Lake Nakuru Wildlife safari is a short Kenya wildlife viewing safari to two wonderful safari destinations of Kenya is Maasai Mara national reserve and Lake Nakuru national park. Maasai Mara national reserve is famous Kenya safari destination for the big five such as lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and African elephants and the great wildebeest migration occurring in July to October. The wildebeest migration involves the migration of millions of wildebeests, gazelles and elands from Serengeti national park of Tanzania.

Lake Nakuru national park is another famous destination in Kenya for hosting the largest population of rhinos in Kenya and large population of flamingoes.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi at exactly 07:30 am and embark on a journey to Masai Mara national reserve, on your way you will have views of the Great Rift Valley and beautiful escarpments take amazing beautiful pictures. You will have a stopover in Narok town which is a home town to the Masai and it is filled with craft shops selling artifacts which you can buy then process to Masai Mara national reserve. On your arrival you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will head to the reserve for an afternoon game drive searching for predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, African wild dogs and many other animals. After the exercise you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Accommodation is got at Enchoro wildlife camp or similar.

Day 2: Full day in Maasai Mara

Have breakfast at your lodge/camp then head to the reserve where you will spend the entire day exploring, on this full day exploration you will have 2 game drives that is morning g and afternoon game drive and you will carry your lunch boxes with you for picnic lunch which is to be set on the banks of Mara River. If you visit Masai Mara national reserve on a Kenya safari between July and September you will have the opportunity to watch the great wildebeest migration which is on of the seven wildlife wonders in the world. You will have the pleasure of watching millions of wildebeests accompanied by thousands of zebras crossing from Serengeti national park with dramatic river crossing at Mara River.

You will spot other animals such as lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, hartebeests, rhinos, buffaloes and many birds such as herons, secretary birds and many more. After spending the whole in Masai Mara reserve you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park

After morning breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout out of your lodge and exit Masai Mara national reserve with an en-route game drive while heading to lake Nakuru national park. Lake Nakuru national park is a famous destination in Kenya known for hosting the largest population of black and white rhinos in Kenya and large population of pink flamingoes found on the shores of Lake Nakuru.

When you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge then have lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive searching for rhinos, lions, giraffes, buffaloes and visit lake Nakuru where you will see millions of flamingoes covering the shores of the lake. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Transfer from Lake Nakuru national park back to Nairobi

After early morning breakfast at your lodge, you will head to Lake Nakuru national park for a morning game drive on which you will spot the black and white rhino and flamingoes when you visit the magnificent Lake Nakuru. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge for lunch and then check out and embark on a journey back to Nairobi. On your arrival you will be dropped off at your lodge or at the airport for your departure flight home.
