DETAILED ITINERARY OF 5 DAYS KENYA WILDLIFE AND CULTURAL SAFARI
Day 1: transfer from Nairobi to Maasai Mara national reserve
After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, you will meet your safari driver-guide and after a short briefing about the day’s activities you will set off on a drive heading to Maasai Mara national reserve the most popular wildlife destination in Kenya. The park is famous known for hosting a huge population of wildlife species and the annual wildebeest migration involving the annual movement of over 1.5 million wildebeests together with zebras, elands and Thomson gazelles as they follow an old map.
On your way you will have a stopover in Narok town where you will encounter the locals carrying on with their daily life, visit the market and purchase some fresh fruits and beautiful crafts. You will also have lunch in Narok and proceed to the reserve arriving in the evening, on your arrival you will go for an evening game drive looking for predators which are more active at night such as lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs among others. Later head to your lodge, check in and stay overnight while on Kenya Safaris.

Day 2: morning game drive and Maasai culture encounter
Wake up early for a cup of coffee and exactly 06:00 am you will head to the reserve for an early morning game drive offering an opportunity to spot early risers and predators as they return from hunting, animals to look out for include lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, cheetahs, wildebeests, elands, Masai giraffes and many more. You will also enjoy the scenic views of the reserve and the spectacular sunrise, later return to your lodge for lodge for late breakfast and lounge around for a while as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a visit in the Maasai village situated along the borders of the reserve for a culture encounter, while in the Maasai village you will be mind blown by the beautiful circular shaped huts (bomas) built using local materials such as soil, timbers and grass thatched. You will be entertained by local dances and drama, witness the making of local beads and other beautiful ornaments and also interact with the locals. Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Lake Nakuru national park and afternoon game drive
Have breakfast then checkout and say good bye to Maasai Mara national reserve as you drive heading to Lake Nakuru national park a fascinating birding destination and a home to some of the last populations of white and black rhinos in Kenya. The park hosts large concentrations of lesser and great flamingoes on the shores of Lake Nakuru creating a pink hue and other bird species such as pelican, cormorants, herons among others thus being a very rewarding destination for bird watching.
You are to arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will have after checking in to your lodge, then go for an afternoon game drive enjoying sights of animals such as black and white, leopards, lions, Rothschild giraffe, waterbucks and many more. During the game drive you will visit Lake Nakuru where you will enjoy the watching hundreds of pink flamingoes on the shores of the lake, later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: en-route game drive and transfer to Samburu national reserve and afternoon game drive
Have early breakfast, then checkout and go for an en-route game drive as you exit the park heading to Samburu national reserve a scenic destination at the banks of Ewaso Nyiro River the biggest river in Northern Kenya. The park is a home to the rare northern special 5 species that Grevy’s zebra, Somali Ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Beisa Oryx. The park hosts other species of wildlife including crocodiles, lions, hippo, giraffes and many more and over 365 birds including weaver birds, martial eagle, ostriches, herons and many more.
Arrive in the reserve in time for lunch at your lodge then go for an afternoon game drive enjoying the semi arid rugged landscape of the reserve and animals such as Grevy’s zebra, Somali Ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, crocodiles, lions, hippo, giraffes among others. Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: visit the Samburu people and transfer back to Nairobi
After morning breakfast you will head to the Samburu community for a cultural experience, the Samburu people in the villages situated along the borders of Samburu national reserve. These people are similar to the Maasai people and while on your visit you will have an opportunity to learn about their fascinating culture and heritage, beliefs, traditions and be entertained by cultural dances and drama. After the experience you will head back to your lodge for lunch then checkout and drive to Nairobi for a drop off either at the hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
