7 days Kenya birding safari is a perfect Kenya safari for both birders and photographers, this safari takes travelers on some of the best Kenya birding destinations including Nairobi national park, Lake Elementaita, Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru national park.
On 7 days Kenya birding safari you will be able to encounter several bird species such as Variable Sunbird, Bronze Sunbird and the Collard Sunbird, African Goshawk, Palm swift, Baglafetch Weaver, among others.
Full Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be met by our representative and after a short briefing about the safari you will be transfer to your hotel for check in. Later you will proceed to Nairobi National park –an ornithological paradise located within Nairobi City. In the afternoon you will have a guided visit to National Museum Bird Gallery, followed by a short bird walk at Nairobi National Museum Botanic Garden, here you will be able to see various bird species such as Variable Sunbird, Bronze Sunbird and the Collard Sunbird, African Goshawk, Palm swift, Baglafetch Weaver, among others. In the evening you will return to your hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Elementaita
Have morning breakfast and depart for Lake Elementaita arriving in mid-day and head for a mid-morning bird walk, during this walk you will be identify available bird species such as the Feral lovebird, Avocet, Klaas’ cuckoo, Glossy ibis, Black heron, Red billed Teal, Black tailed godwit among others. You will have lunch at the hotel then go for an afternoon bird walk, later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Elementaita – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast you will depart from Elementaita and head for a scenic drive through the Great North road to Lake Naivasha, arrive by mid-morning for a bird walk identifying and seeing various bird species. Lake Naivasha is a wonder birding site declared as a bird sanctuary in 1967 , the site also pastoral industries of wine and flowers. During the birding experience you will be able to see and capture beautiful pictures of many birds such as herons, fish eagles, ospreys, black crakes, and lily-trotters. You will also enjoy the magnificent landscape dominated by the shadow of Mt. Longonot, a number of lakes among others. Lake Naivasha is located on the Rift floor hosting over 450 bird species recorded to be in the area. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Hell’s Gate National Park
After breakfast, you will go for a morning bird walk aiming at viewing birds on the shores of Lake Naivasha, after a few hours of relaxation and lunch you will go for an afternoon visit to Hell’s Gate National park which is a breeding ground for vultures in Kenya such as Lammergeyer vultures we also anticipate for species like Imperial eagle, Schalow’s wheatear, Chin spot batis among others. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Hell’s Gate National Park – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast you will depart from your lodge for Lake Nakuru national park known as “The pink Heart of Kenya” because of the millions of pink flamingoes covering the lake with pink shine. Arrive in the time for lunch which you will have at Ziwa Bush Lodge and in the afternoon you will go for a bird viewing experience on which you will encounter several bird species including pink lesser and greater flamingoes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park
Today you are to spend the whole day in the plains of Lake Nakuru national park taking pictures and spotting various species of birds and other animals, if you are lucky enough you will be able to spot the shy cat, rhinos which are common. Have lunch at your lodge and in the afternoon go for a game drive , capturing more of the animals you did not encounter during the previous game drive. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park – Nairobi
Wake up early for breakfast and heading for another game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru national park heading back to Nairobi for a drop-off at the airport or at the hotel.
