This 3 Days Ndutu Area and Ngorongoro Safari takes you on a safari to Ndutu Plains and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ndutu Plains forms part of the northern section of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It stretches to the unfenced southern reaches of the Serengeti, a meeting point between these two incredible wilderness areas. The section of the park is made up of rolling grasslands peppered with alkaline lakes that attract flocks of flamingoes, as well as acacia woodlands.

Detailed itinerary of 3 Days Ndutu Area and Ngorongoro Safari
Day 1 – Arusha to Ndutu – Afternoon game drive in Ndutu
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide or from your hotel in Arusha and head towards the Ndutu region. It is a drive of about 6 hours covering a distance of 260 kilometers about 3.5 hours after leaving Arusha.
You will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enjoy scenic views of the landscape changing from hilly forest to savannah plains and green grasslands. Once you reach the Ndutu area, you will embark on the afternoon game drive with picnic lunch.
Ndutu Area forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebras, antelopes and gazelles through the Serengeti ecosystem. During the game drive between December and April, you will be able to see the Great Migration in this region. Between Mid Jan and Feb, the calving happens here, attracting a huge number of predators prying on the vulnerable young wildebeests.
Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek are waterholes in the area attracting plenty of wildlife game during the dry season. The Ndutu Area is also home for the big cats, leopards, lions, cheetah, caracal, serval and wild cats which you will see during the game drive. Late in the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Ndutu
Have a relaxed breakfast and depart with packed lunch for a full day game drive, the experience starts at around 06:00 am and you will return to the lodge late afternoon around 5:30 pm.
Alternatively you can depart after breakfast at 6:20 am for an early morning game drive, later return to the lodge at around 10:30 am for relaxation and lunch. Depart at 3:00 pm for afternoon game drive and return to the lodge by 6:00 pm for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 – Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Arusha
On this last day of your 3 Days Ndutu Area and Ngorongoro Safari, you will have early breakfast and head to Ngorongoro Crater – the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera.
Ngorongoro Crater has massive floor of about 260 square kilometers with a depth of over 2000 feet, you will have a drive of approximately 5 hours enjoying sights of animal action, some of the animals to lookout for include hyenas, cheetahs, hippos, rhinos, African elephants and lions among others which are in plenty and flamingoes at Lake Magadi.
Have picnic lunch at the beautiful hippo pool, then ascend to the top exit of the crater then embark on a journey back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight.
