Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Tanzania Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Tarangire national park, Game Drive
Your Tanzania safari guide will meet you and welcome you for the safari at the airport upon arrival. He will brief you about your safari at hand, and will proceed on a transfer to Tarangire national park which is known for its large herds of elephants. You will also look out for the various wildlife species such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hartebeest, wildebeest, elands, impalas and many bird species.
You will also enjoy beautiful views of the baobab and acacia trees where the wildlife species take shelter. You will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Twiga Campsite for budget/ Heritage Manyara Safari Lodge for mid-range.
Day 2: Lake Manyara national park Game Drive, Guided Walking Safari
You will have breakfast at your lodge and with your packed lunches, you will proceed into the wilderness of the national park to engage in a morning game drive. You will enjoy looking out for wildlife species during your safari such as elephants, dik dik, leopards, buffalos, chance to see the tree climbing lions, gazelles among others. This national park also has over 400 bird species and you will see different birds during your safari.
After having a picnic lunch, you will relax and later in the late afternoon hours engage in a guided walking safari inside Lake Manyara National Park, to explore more attractions and enjoy seeing wildlife species. You will return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night as above.
Day 3: Drive to Serengeti national park, Game Drive
After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed to Serengeti National Park to explore the vast savannah plains in search of more wildlife species such as the big 5 like lions, elephants, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. You will have lunch at your lodge in the national park before you engage in an evening game drive to search for wildlife species like zebras, hippos, giraffes, antelopes, kudu, gazelles, hyenas and many others. You will have dinner and overnight at Tukaone Serengeti Camp for Budget, Central Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp for Mid-range.
Day 4: Full day in Serengeti national park
You will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare to engage in a morning game drive around Serengeti National Park. During your morning game drive, you will search for different wildlife species like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, elephants, wildebeests, antelopes, giraffes, hippos, waterbucks and many others. You will have your lunch before another game driving experience in the national park in the afternoon.
Your guide will drive you around the national park in the central part of Serengeti National Park as you look out for different attractions and wildlife species in the distant plains. You will return to your lodge after this experience for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 5: Full day in Serengeti national park, Optional Hot air balloon
You will start another day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park with breakfast prepared at your lodge. After having your breakfast, you will engage in a morning game drive around Serengeti national park.
You will have lunch and then an afternoon game drive as you enjoy the beautiful views around Serengeti National Park and look out for various wildlife species like elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, antelopes, waterbucks, hippos, hyenas, dik dik, kudu and different bird species. Your dinner and overnight will be as above.

Day 6: Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sand Visit, Crater Rim Walk
You will have breakfast before leaving Serengeti National Park and driving to your next wildlife viewing destination which is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With your packed lunch drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enjoy an Ol Duvai Gorge visit for a lesson through histrory of mankind. Enjoy a game drive in the conservation area as you drive to your lodge for check in and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Tree Inn for Budget, Hhando Coffee Lodge for Mid-range.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Maasai Bomas Visit
After breakfast, with your packed lunch head out for full day game drive in the crater. You will descend 600 meters into the crater which is home to numerous wildlife species like the big 5 which includes lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos and elephants. Other wildlife species in Ngorongoro include hyenas, wildebeests, antelopes, cheetahs, antelopes, zebras, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs among others.
There are also different bird species which can be spotted around Ngorongoro crater like ostriches as well as flamingos common along the shores of Lake Magadi. After your game drive around the Ngorongoro crater, you will enjoy a Maasai Bomas visit to interact with the locals, and then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn for budget/Hhando Coffee Lodge for mid-range
Day 8: Departure
After a relaxed breakfast, check out and proceed to transfer to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Zanzibar, bringing your 8 Days Tanzania Safari to an end.
