Hemingways Mara River Camp is a luxury accommodation owned and operated by Hemingways collection that run the best and most unique properties across Kenya. The camp is set along the Njagetech River in the Mara North Conservancy within the Masaai Mara national park.

The camp offers stunning views of the bush and river to tourists and travelers, which is perfect for game viewing.

How to get there

The camp is situated approximately 4-5 hours’ drive/260 km from Nairobi City Center by Road and 50 minutes’ flight to the close Mara north airstrip then a few minutes’ drive to be transferred to the camp.

About the camp

Hemingways Mara River Camp consists of eight luxurious and comfortable exclusive en-suite tents overlooking a stunning view of the river and surrounding landscape.

The camp offers the combination of king/twin/double beds for sharing and individual beds (single) and is suitable for families/groups as well, reflecting a traditional building style with a high level of comfort.

Each tent is well raised on a platform, decorated, and furnished with en-suite facilities that include clean private flush toilets, hot and cold water showers, mosquito nets, wooden chairs and tables, dressing mirrors and tables, complimentary bottled water, free toiletries, and white duvets and pillows, to mention just a few.

Each tent features large sitting areas and a veranda that offers a vintage view of the bush, river, and wildlife roaming around the unfenced camp and its surrounding areas.

There is a cracking fireplace where the fire glows, with comfortable chairs for guests to relax and share more experiences about the safaris. Not only that, but it also provides warmth to visitors during bad weather.

A tent with a dining area serves a variety of perfect cuisines, including both international (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) and Kenyan options, to meet guests’ choices. It offers a buffet breakfast with a great view over the river, as well as picnic lunch and dining areas for both indoor and outdoor diners. A well-trained, friendly, and organized staff ensures guests’ comfort and safety. The camp serves bush breakfasts, enjoying the morning sunrises, wildlife, and Bush Diners overlooking the stars in the sky.

A well-stocked bar offers a variety of refreshments, both local and international, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and international beers. They also provide sundowners overlooking the stunning sunset and wildlife roaming around the unfenced camp and surrounding areas.

Masaai Mara National Park is among the largest and most  visited parks in Kenya, known for its incredible density and variety of animals. it is  situated  270km north of Nairobi in Kenya, occupying a total area of 1,510 km squared. There are over 1 million tribes in Kenya, and the Maasai are an indigenous group of semi-nomadic people who settled in Kenya and the northern part of Tanzania.

The Maasai Mara National park is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. The park contains over a million animals, which include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos; 600 species of birds; and 60 species of raptors in different colors. Wildebeest traverses its plains during its annual migration from Serengeti National Park in July, August, and October. The Mara and Talek rivers traverse the grassy plains and rolling hills that make up the landscape.
