Detailed Itinerary of 10 Days Discover Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kigali City. Spend the evening at rest, have dinner and sped the night.

Day 2: Kigali -Akagera National Park
After a delicious breakfast, check out of your lodge and depart for Akagera National Park arriving in afternoon, time for lunch at your lodge after checking in. Later in the day, you will go for a game drive in the savannah plains of Akagera National Park. During the drive you will see several animals including lions, giraffes, baboons, cape buffaloes among others.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Akagera National Park
After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive exploring the savannah plains of Akagera and enjoy incredible sight of the scenic landscape and various animals including leopards, lions, cape buffaloes, leopards, gazelles, giraffes among others and several bird species.
In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride to admire the beauty of Lake Ihema with incredible sights of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 4: Akagera- Kigali
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Kigali City. After lunch at a restaurant, you will go for a Kigali City to visit the old Kigali and craft centres, the Kigali Genocide Memorial site, where you will learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide.

Day 5: Kigal – Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, embark on a journey heading to Nyungwe Forest National Park with a visit to the Kings Palace in Nyanza and the Huye Ethnographic Museum. Enjoy en-route lunch and proceed to your lodge.

Day 6: Explore Nyungwe Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trek
Start your day early with a delicious breakfast and head to the park for chimpanzee tracking in the rainforests of Nyungwe. The trek starts with briefing at the park headquarters, then head to the trail, enter into the forest looking for chimpanzees. The trek for chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of chimpanzee and their feeding range. Upon finding the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour observing the behavior of the chimpanzees, taking pictures among others.
Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, enjoy the canopy walk. From the high suspended bridge, you will enjoy scenic views of the forest canopy and the surrounding area, spot various primates and many birds.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Nyungwe Forest National Park – Lake Kivu
Today you will have a leisurely breakfast and drive to the beautiful Lake Kivu. On arrival, check in at your lodge and spend an afternoon at leisure on the shores of the lake or engage in numerous optional activities such as boat ride.

Day 8: Lake Kivu – Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, depart for Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri. This scenic town is located only 25 kilometers from the Uganda border and is relatively a small city hosting about 70,000 people and boasts great views of the stunning surrounding volcanoes.
Enjoy lunch at your lodge and in the afternoon, you will go for a visit to the magical twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for a boat ride experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla Trek
Wake up early for breakfast and be transfer to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking experience. Join other visitors at the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas.
With your armed range guides, drive to the starting point, enter into the forest looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2- 4 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Spend one hour in their presence watching them play, feed and groom each other.
Later trek back to the starting point, meet your driver and return to your lodge for lunch. in the afternoon you will go for a cultural experience at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.

Day 10: Kigali
