17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari takes you on an adventure on which you will have an opportunity to explore some of the best Africa safari destinations in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

  • In Uganda the pearl of Africa, expect to visit Lake Victoria – the source of the Nile, Queen Elizabeth national park, a home to abundance of wildlife and Bwindi impenetrable national park – a home to the world’s biggest population of mountain gorillas.
  • In Kenya, expect to visit and explore Nairobi city , Masai Mara national reserve a home to the abundance of wildlife and a host of the Great migration.

Detailed itinerary of 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari

Day 01: arrival and transfer to La Maison Royal Hotel

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport that is at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our company representative and safari – driver. After a short briefing and warm welcome you will be transferred to the Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 02: full day of rest

Day 03: Explore Nairobi city

On the 3rd day of your 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari, Have breakfast, leave your hotel and go for   visiting the giraffe Centre for an encounter with the elephants, Nairobi national museum and the Elephant Orphanage for an encounter with orphaned elephants. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04: transfer to Masai Mara national reserve

On the 4th day of your 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari, Have breakfast and embark on a journey to Masai Mara national reserve – the most popular wildlife destination in Kenya and on the African continent, the reserve is a home to the largest population of wildlife in Africa and famously known for the Great Migration. Along the way you will have a stopover in Narok town for an encounter with the locals and at the viewing point for the magnificent views of the rift valley escarpments then proceed to the park arriving in time for lunch which you will have at the lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive on which you will enjoy views of various animals such as lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, elands, zebras, cheetahs, African wild dogs among others. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 05 – 06: full day game drive

You will have an early morning breakfast followed by a full day game drive at the Masai Mara National Reserve on day two of this masai mara safari 3 days, drive to the park entrance where you will have a chance to view more animal count around the park including lions, elephants, giraffes, wildbeasts, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, thompson’s gazelle among many others with your guide coming in hand to give you all the details of the animals you will have spotted plus their ways of  life. The full day game drive in Masai Mara will enable you to explore other areas of the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Mara Triangle to the Mara Bridge, which is at the border of Tanzania just next to the famous Serengeti National Park. You will make a few stops along the banks of the scenic Mara River as to allow you to stretch your legs during your game drive. With your packed lunch you will have a 1 hour’s snug picnic lunch break as you enjoy more of this park. Later have a guided community tour to the Masai village and experience the stable pastoral culture of the oldest inhabitants of East Africa, the Masai.

You will be fascinated by the men who stand tall and proud with their culture. The Masai women are bejeweled with bright beaded earrings and adorned with the brilliant red, blue and purple patterns of the shukas and scarves they wear. This will all be a 2 hour’s activity full with Traditional songs, dances, cultural practices and a community walk. Return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 07: transfer to Serengeti national park

On the 7th day of your 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari, After breakfast you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Serengeti national park, along the way you will  have a stopover at the Isebania border where you will have your travel documents and then cross to the Tanzania side where you will meet our Tanzania counterpart and proceed to Serengeti national park arriving in the park in the evening, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 08: full day game drive

On these two days of the safari provide you with enough time to explore Serengeti national park one of the most great wildlife destinations in Africa, during the  game viewing experience you will be able to explore the plains of the park and spot abundance of wildlife including African wild dogs, hyenas, leopards, wildebeests, Maasai gazelles among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 09: morning game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro

Have early breakfast, meet your safari guide and head to the plains of Serengeti for the last morning game drive, later depart for Ngorongoro Conservation area with an en-route game drive. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the 8 wonders of the world due to hosting the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world in the names of Ngorongoro crater said to have been formed million years ago due to volcanic eruption.

On your arrival, you will check into your lodge for lunch then descend to the crater floor for a game drive on which you will enjoy watching many animals such as lions, buffaloes, leopards, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, Jackals, hyenas, Thomson and grants gazelles and many birds such as storks, herons, secretary birds and many more.  Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 10: game drive at the crater and transfer back to Arusha

After breakfast, descend into the floor for the last game drive of your safari lasting for 5 hours with picnic lunch, the crater floor is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world hosting an estimated 30,000 animals including the some of the last remaining black rhinos in Tanzania. Apart from rhinos other animals you will watch on the game drive include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, leopards and many more. After the game drive and lunch you will head on a drive back to Arusha for a drop off at your lodge the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: fly from Kilimanjaro International Airport (Arusha, Tanzania) to Entebbe International Airport (Kampala, Uganda)

On the 11th day of your 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari, On arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari driver guide and after a short briefing you will be transferred to your lodge in Kampala. However if your flight arrives before 4 pm you will transfer to Jinja Lake Victoria – the source of the Nile.

Day 12: transfer to Jinja (Lake Victoria) and Do a boat cruise to the source of the Nile

On your arrival, you will be picked by your safari Driver guide and embark on a journey to Lake Victoria the source of the Nile in Jinja. When you arrive, you will have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the calm waters of Lake Victoria. In the evening you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 13: drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

Have breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, a popular national park in Uganda known for tree climbing lions and a huge population of wildlife. Along the way you will have lunch and proceed to the park arriving in the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14:  morning game drive and Kazinga channel boat cruiser

On the 14th day of your 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari, You will wake up very early to take tea/coffee then go for the early morning game drive at the Mweya peninsular around the Kazinga Channel. The safari is for about 3 hour and you will follow different trails to spot Jackals, buffaloes, forest hogs, warthogs, the Uganda Kob, Elephants, lions and the elusive leopard. You will be taken back to the lodge to have late breakfast then relax or stay at the poolside as you wait for lunch. The two hour afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel will give you opportunities to spot several bird (Kingfishers, pelicans etc) species, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodile and other water animals.  Dinner and overnight

Day 15: Morning games drive and transfer to Bwindi and visit the local community of the Batwa

On the 15th day of your 17 days Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania safari, Wake up for breakfast and go for a morning game drive exploring the park more in the Ishasha sector looking for the tree climbing lions and other animals while exiting the park and heading to Bwindi Impenetrable  national park. Arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will have checking in and in the afternoon you will go for a visit to the local Batwa People.

During your visit to the local Batwa people – the original inhabitants of the forests , you will be able to learn more about their life style, their local cultures and traditions and be entertained by local dances and drama.  In the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 16: mountain gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the mountain gorillas and the park. Enter into the jungle to search for the shy primates in their mist. One hour is allowed to stay with the primates for the clients to enjoy those playing, take unforgettable photographs. Carry with you the rain gear, walkable shoes, hut, insect repellent, sunscreens, packed lunch, and bottled mineral water. When you return from the gorilla trekking adventure, you will embark on a journey to Lake Bunyonyi the 3rd deepest lake in the world and the 2nd in Africa. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 17: boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi and transfer back to Kampala

Have breakfast and go for a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi the 3rd deepest lake in the world and the second deepest in Africa coming second to Lake Tanganyika. Lake Bunyonyi is also known as a place of small birds situated in the Kigezi Highlands between Kabale and Kisoro Districts.

During the boat ride, you will explore numerous islands dotted in the lake and you will be able to learn about their legendary tales, spot various species of animals and birds. Alternatively you can also take a morning swim in the waters of the lake which are Bilharzia free.

After the boat cruise you will embark on a journey back to Kampala and along the way you will have lunch in Mbarara and proceed to Kampala arriving in late evening. When you arrive in Kampala you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your departure flight back home.
