DETAILED ITINERARY OF 3 DAYS SAMBURU SAFARI
Day 01: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve – Distance: 360 km (5 hrs, 30 min.)
On the 1st day of the safari you will be picked from the airport or at your hotel in Nairobi by our safari driver-guide and after a short briefing, you will embark on a journey to Samburu national reserve – a wildlife paradise located on the banks of the Ewaso Ngi’iro river and about 350 kilometers from Nairobi.
Samburu national reserve hosts a wide variety of animal and birdlife including gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, Oryx, reticulated giraffe, lion, cheetah, African leopard, elephant, cape buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, Grant’s gazelles, kirk’s dik-dik, impalas, waterbucks among others. There are also over 350 bird species including verreaux’s eagle, yellow necked spur fowl, lilac -breasted roller, secretary bird among others.
You are to arrive in the serve in time for lunch which you will have at your lodge and in the afternoon you will go for a game drive exploring the reserve and spotting a variety of Kenya wildlife calling the reserve home. After the sunset you will return to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 02: Full day in Samburu Game Reserve
Today you are to spend the full day exploring the dry semi-arid plains of the reserve while enjoying the stinking background view of the Mathew’s range, the semi-arid plains of the reserve are traversed by the gently flowing Ewaso Ngi’iro river. After having early breakfast you will head to the reserve for a full day game drive with picnic lunch, during the exploration you will be able to spot various animals such as the rare gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, Oryx, reticulated giraffe, lion, cheetah, African leopard, elephant, cape buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, Grant’s gazelles, kirk’s dik-dik, impalas, waterbucks among others and many birds as well. You will also be able to enjoy the serenity of the reserve and in the afternoon you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Samburu Game Reserve – Nairobi Distance: 360 km (5 hrs, 30 min.).
After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge, exit the reserve and embark on a journey back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon, you will dropped off either at your hotel in Nairobi or at Jomo Kenyatta international airport for your flight back home.
