DETAILED ITINERARY OF 8 DAYS KENYA WILDLIFE AND CULTURE FLYING SAFARI

 Day 1.Nairobi
on your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be picked by your safari-driver guide and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: City tour and fly to Maasai Mara

Have breakfast at your hotel and head for a Nairobi city tour visiting the David Sheldrick orphanage, Nairobi Museum and Snake Park. After the city tour you will have lunch then head to Wilson airstrip for your flight to Maasai Mara national reserve the most popular safari destination in Kenya, you will arrive in the reserve using one of the airstrips such as Mara North airstrip, Angama airstrip and Keekorok airstrip. On your arrival you will meet your safari guide and head to your lodge with a game viewing experience, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3 & 4: full day in MAASAI MARA

 You are to spend day 3 and 4 of your safari exploring Maasai Mara national reserve on game drives and hot air balloon safari, on the game drives that is morning and afternoon game drives you will visit most of the regions of the reserve offering an opportunity to spot animals such as lions, wildebeests, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs and many more while on a Kenya Safari.

Maasai mara Wildlife

On the hot air balloon safari experience you will enjoy aerial views of the savannah plains and spot many animals, the experience is best for watching the hot air balloon safari as millions of wildebeests accompanied by thousands and zebras move through the reserve looking water and pasture. At the end of the day’s experience you are to head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5:  visit the local Maasai people

Have breakfast and head to the Maasai community with your packed lunch for a full day of cultural experience, the Maasai people used to inhabit in the savannah plains but when the area was designated as a protected they were evicted to the areas bordering the reserve. The Maasai people are one of the few societies with still retaining their traditions, culture and norms. While in the Maasai community you will be entertained by local dances and drama, interact with the locals, witness the making of pottery items and handmade crafts, listen to their local activities among others. after the full day of experience you will head back to your lodge for dinner and  overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Samburu national reserve

Have breakfast at your lodge then checkout and head to airstrip for your domestic flight to  Samburu national reserve situated on the banks of Ewaso Ng’iro river, the reserve is situated in the Samburu region hosting animals such as gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, cheetah, lion, reticulated giraffe, cape buffalo, hippos, Grant’s gazelles, impalas, dik-dik among others.  When you land at Kalama airstrip, you will be picked up by your safari driver and head to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a game drive watching many animals. After the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7.Morning game drive and visit the SAMBURU people
have early breakfast and head to the reserve for an early morning game drive spotting animals such as lions, Maasai zebras, leopards, elephants, African buffaloes and many more. After the experience you will head back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a cultural tour in the Samburu people, the Samburu people are very similar to the Maasai people and while in their presence you will be entertained by local dances and drama, participate in livestock rearing, taste local meals, visit craft shops and purchase some beautiful items. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 8: fly back to Nairobi

After breakfast you will head to the Samburu airport with en-route game drive for your flight back to Nairobi, when you land at Wilson airport. You will meet your safari driver guide and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta flight home.
