DETAILED ITINERARY OF 8 DAYS MAASAI MARA AND SAMBURU WILDLIFE AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Day 1: arrival in Nairobi
Upon will be met by a safari driver guide and a representative from Focus East Africa Tours upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport in Nairobi, after a short briefing about the safari. You will be transferred to the hotel in Nairobi where you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: drive to Maasai Mara
Wake up for breakfast and head to Nairobi City for a tour, you will visit Nairobi national Museum, the giraffe center and several local markets where you will be amazed with the beauty of the city and learn more about the vibrant Nairobi City.
After the experience, you will have lunch and depart from Nairobi heading to Maasai Mara national reserve an iconic wildlife destination rated among the best destinations in the world for wildlife viewing. Maasai Mara national reserve is a home to abundance of wildlife such as the big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffaloes and rhinos) among others.
Later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3 & 4: full day in MAASAI MARA
On the 3rd and 4th days of the safari, you are to explore Maasai Mara national reserve to the maximum on morning and afternoon game drives with picnic lunch. On the game drives you will be able to visit the regions of the reserve and be able to spot a variety of animals inhabiting in the reserve such as lions, leopards, wildebeests, cheetahs, hyenas, African wild dogs, wildebeests, antelopes among others.
Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Hot air balloon and visit the local Maasai people
Wake up early for breakfast and head to Maasai Mara for a hot air balloon experience, the experience starts as early as 06:00 am, you will watch the balloon as it is being inflated and then set off. As you float in the air (sky above the plains of Maasai Mara) you will be able to enjoy aerial views of the rolling plains of the reserve and abundance of animals such as lions, elephants, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, giraffes among others.
After the hot air balloon experience, you will have a complimentary champagne breakfast then drive back to your lodge for lunch. Later head to the Maasai community for an encounter with the local Masai people in the local Maasai village where you will be entertained by local dances and drama, participate in cattle rearing, witness the building of the circular bomas, taste some of the local dishes and interact with the locals.
Later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: Drive to SAMBURU national park
Wake up early for breakfast, then checkout of your lodge and head on a drive to Samburu national reserve. From Maasai Mara to Samburu national reserve it is a full day drive and you will have lunch along the way, you will arrive in the reserve in evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Samburu national reserve is a very rewarding Kenya safari destination and a home to abundance of wildlife such as Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, leopards, striped hyenas, the African civet, African wild dog and many more.

Day 7.Morning game drive and visit the SAMBURU people
Have an early cup of coffee and head to the plains of Samburu national reserve for an early morning game drive on which you will be able to see many animals such as lions, leopards, hyenas, cape buffaloes and many others. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge for late breakfast and rest for a while as you wait for lunch, you can either take a swim or lounge around.
After lunch you will head to the Samburu community for a Samburu cultural experience and enjoy watching the unique traditions, norms and several practices of the Samburu people. During your visit you will enjoy interacting with local people, learn about their daily lifestyle, traditional activities and be entertained by local dances and drama.
After the experience you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer back to NAIROBI
After breakfast, checkout out of the lodge and set off on a journey driving back to Nairobi for a drop off. When you arrive in Nairobi City, you will be dropped off either at the airport or at the hotel.
