Detailed itinerary of 9 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Tanzania

On landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our experienced driver-guide and after a short briefing about what to expect on the safari you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Coffee Culture in Arusha

Spend a full day at your lodge – Arusha Coffee Lodge burrowed deep in Tanzania’s coffee country among the verdant foothills of Mount Meru’s Peak.

After breakfast, you will head for a guided tour of the surrounding coffee plantations, you can choose to simply absorb the aromas from your private veranda hidden in the dense gardens. Indulge in a spa treatment and take in your surroundings from the stunning swimming pool or perhaps head to the Arusha National Park where you will enjoy sightings of blue monkeys perched among the lush treetops. In the evening, you will enjoy sampling local dishes from grilled meats to wood-friend pizza.

Days 3-6: The Spectacular Serengeti Migration

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Serengeti National Park where you will witness the annual Wildebeest Migration as it takes place.

The Great Wildebeest Migration is an impressive sight you will remembers for years to come, you will spend the next four days exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. Spend the days on game drives spotting animals such as wildebeests, zebras, gazelles as they speed through the endless savannah plains following the rains.

Spend these days on game viewing drive spotting animals such as hyenas, wild dogs and the Big Five among others. The magic of the migration is spotting the elusive cheetahs in wait, vividly behind the dusty plains of amidst river crossing.

Days 7-8: Ngorongoro Crater – The world’s largest wildlife Haven

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro Crater with en-route game drive in the Serengeti Plains. Referred to as the Garden of Eden, Ngorongoro Crater is home to a huge population of wildlife including the Big Five – lion, leopard, Cape buffalo, rhinos and elephants.

 During the game drives, you will explore the Ngorongoro Crater – the world’s largest wildlife habitat, descend through early morning mists and into the crater – the world’s largest intact volcanic reservoir. Spot enormous herds of elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests, rhinos, lions and millions of pink flamingoes. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a picnic spot overlooking a lake crowded with hippos before returning for sundowners over the crater and a buffet style dinner that showcases wonderful local ingredients. For something extra special, request to have a table set up in a secluded spot around camp.

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast, you will embark on a journey back to Arusha City where you will have lunch and later be dropped off at the airport for your flight back bringing you safari to an end.
