Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Luxury Uganda Primate Safari
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel.
Dinner and Overnight at Best Western Hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Enjoy breakfast, meet your guide, depart Entebbe and head west to Fort Portal, with lunch en-route. Along the way you will enjoy incredible views of the Rwenzori Mountains, known as the “Mountains of The Moon”, proceed to Kibale National Park with a visit at Bigodi Swamp for a guided walk.
Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu Safari Lodge
After a relaxed breakfast we will depart Entebbe and head west to Fort Portal, with lunch
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp
Today is for chimpanzee trekking, have early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the forest. Kibale Forest is well-known for habiting the biggest variety of primates as well as the highest number of chimpanzees that is why it is crowned the World’s Primate Capital.
Head into Kibale Forest looking for chimpanzees on a trek that takes approximately 2 to 6 hours, depending on the movement of the chimpanzees and where they spent their previous night. You are allowed one hour of being in the presence of the chimpanzees watching them go on with their life, watch them groom each other, picking fruits and taking care of their babies. You are allowed to take photos as you wish, later return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you head to Bigodi Swamp for a guided walk, a completely unique nature walk. The Bigodi Village Walk is a project of the locals of Bigodi Village and it is renowned for its amazing birdlife diversity as well as numerous primates.
Overnight as above.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the crater lakes region. You will have lunch and rest at your lodge after checking in. Later go for a game drive looking for some animals such as elephants, warthogs, waterbucks and buffaloes and among others.
Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Game drive & Boat cruise
Start your day early with breakfast, head to the park for a morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains, the mating grounds for the Uganda Kobs. Look for buffaloes, lions and elephants, and many other wildlife animals in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. Kazinga channel is a waterway connecting Lake Edward to Lake George, you will enjoy sight of plentiful of birds and numerous elephants and birds along the shores of the channel. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Following a delicious breakfast, checkout of our lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will see the famous and rare tree climbing lions.
On your way to Bwindi, you will drive through the beautiful countryside dominated by green hills and several traditional homesteads. You will arrive in the park in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest is the highlight of this 10 Days Luxury Uganda Safari. Wake up early, have breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the rainforest looking for the gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. You are allowed to spend only 1 hour in the presence of the gorillas watching them go on with their life in forest, watch them groom each, feeding and playing.
Later, return to the park headquarters, meet your guide and return to the lodge, spend the rest of the day at rest.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mburo National Park. Have en-route lunch in Mbarara and proceed to the park, on arrival you will embark on a game drive as you head to your lodge.
Overnight at Mihingo Lodge.
Day 9: Lake Mburo National Park
Spend a full day in Lake Mburo National Park on morning game drive and after boat ride on Lake Mburo. During the game drive, you will be treated to sight of several of animals including giraffes, zebras, warthogs, hippos among others.
In the afternoon after lunch, you will head to Lake Mburo for a boat cruise enjoying the serene breeze and sight of several water birds and animals including hippos. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and embark on a journey back to Kampala. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home.
