Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Your Rwanda Gorilla trekking and cultural tour commences with arrival at Kigali International Airport, where you will meet our representative who will brief you about the safari and what to expect.
Have a short Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, the Kimironko Market among other sites. After lunch at a restaurant in Kigali City, you will embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, home to mountain gorillas. Arrive in the late evening, check into your lodge for an evening of rest, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing regarding gorilla trekking by the park rangers. In groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, then head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas.
You will be hiking on the uneven terrain involving a lot of climbing and the experience is tedious but impressive when you finally face the mountain gorillas. You will see them as they go about their day-to-day routine activities, mothers caring for the young, playing as well as feeding.
You are required to maintain a distance while you watch them, make sure to turn off the flash of your camera as you take pictures. Gorilla trekking takes approximately two to eight hours depending on their movement. Right after trekking, head back to the lodge to relax and enjoy the evening. Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experience
Following an early breakfast, leave for the second day of gorilla tracking. Have briefing at the park headquarters about the rules and guidelines which govern this gorilla tracking activity. This experience will be very exciting since you will be used to the number of trails.
The experience of seeing the endangered mountain gorillas once more will be breathtaking and satisfying, and have more information about the gorillas. After the experience you will return to your lodge for an evening of relaxing. Later head to the Iby’Iwacu Village for a cultural experience to see the hospitable Banyarwanda as they go about their daily activities, interact with the local people and appreciate their fascinating culture and be entertained by local dances and drama. Later head back to your lodge and enjoy overnight.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Departure
Enjoy early breakfast, return to the park for golden monkey trekking. Just like gorilla trekking, you will have a briefing session at the park headquarters conducted by a senior ranger. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 3 hours or more depending on the movement of the golden monkeys, they are found in the bamboo trees where you will see them jump from one branch to another, pick fruits and play fight. After an hour of this memorable encounter, you will return to your park headquarters, meet your guide and embark on a journey to Kigali City where you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
