Angama Mara Safari

Angama Mara Safari : Welcome to Angama, inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid-air’. Angama Mara is a spectacular safari lodge with a breathtaking view of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, which many people believe to be the most beautiful game reserve on the continent, and is perched high above the Great Rift Valley in Africa.

In this lodge, visitors will discover a place where everything is just as it should be: two small camps with only fifteen tented suites each, a private airfield and access to the Mara below, custom safari days, and a notably friendly Kenyan welcome. Angama Safari Camp, an exclusive-use mobile tented camp located deep within the Mara Triangle and amid the huge herds during the Great Migration, is the ideal complement to the lodge.

Angama Safari Camp.

Angama Safari Camp is located deep within the Maasai Mara’s uninhabited wilderness. The design of this single-use, low-footprint tented camp, which makes for easy living while mirroring the most cherished features of her older sister with the best of everything but always just the perfect amount of everything, is new and uncluttered.

Tented Suites.

Each of the 100 square metres Angama Mara Tented Suites is perched directly on the edge of the escarpment and features floor to ceiling windows along the front to maximize the stunning views. The interiors use Maasai Red, French Khaki, copper, and brass accents and are minimalistic, classic, and most all, comfy.

Suspended In Mid-Air.

Angama Mara’s property, which literally juts out into Africa’s Great Rift Valley, gives off the surreal impression of being suspended between heaven and earth. It is not surprising that this place was chosen for the most memorable moments in Sydney Pollack’s beloved movie Out of Africa when searching for stunning places that evoked the Kenya of Blixen and Finch-Hatton.
